One of the most traditional Calisson makers in Aix-en-Provence. You can really taste the almonds in their recipe, as they use a generous amount of them, giving the Calisson a lovely, rich almond flavor. I especially recommend this one if, like me, you prefer your Calisson a little less sweet and with a more pronounced almond taste.
11 Rue Gaston de Saporta, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
One of the things I love about Le Roy René is that, beyond their delicious Calissons, they have such a lovely variety of Provençal specialties. You'll find everything from nougat and pâte de fruits to chocolate-covered almonds, so there's something for every kind of sweet tooth. And honestly, their beautiful packaging makes everything even more tempting.
12 Cours Mirabeau, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
Beyond their famous Calissons, Béchard is also known for its delicious brioches. One of my favorite little moments is walking past the shop in the morning and catching the smell of freshly baked, warm brioche drifting into the street — it instantly makes you want to stop! It's also a wonderful place to discover traditional French and Provençal pastries and sweets.
10 Rue Gaston de Saporta, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
My new favorite little treat in Aix: Weibel Chouquettes! ✨ They're just as beautiful as they are delicious, with the perfect size to enjoy one (or a few!) without feeling too guilty. And if you try just one, make it the Crème Brûlée chouquette — it's my absolute favorite! The perfect little indulgence to enjoy while exploring Aix.
4 Rue Gaston de Saporta, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
A must-visit in Aix if you have a sweet tooth! Their madeleines are delicious and very reasonably priced, making them the perfect little treat to enjoy while exploring the city. Just be prepared for a possible queue, especially on Saturdays. I also recommend going earlier in the day, as some of the most popular flavors can sell out by the afternoon. My personal favorite is the chocolate chip madeleine — so good that I definitely wouldn't wait until the end of the day to get one!
Place des 3 Ormeaux, 5 Rue des Épinaux, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
Elegance and flavor gathered around a beautiful Provençal fountain. ✨ L'Incontournable is one of those restaurants where the setting is almost as special as the food. Its charming terrace, beautiful fountain, and relaxed atmosphere make it a lovely place to enjoy a meal in the heart of Aix.
14 Rue Annonerie Vieille, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
A little hidden gem in the heart of Aix! ✨ Drôle d'Endroit combines creative, seasonal French cuisine with a cozy, artsy atmosphere — the walls are constantly changing with photography, paintings, and other art. The menu follows the market, so there's always something new to discover. A lovely choice if you're looking for a more personal and original dining experience in Aix.
